What do Life Transitions and Career Coaches do?
- Provide a positive and effective relationship and ensure they are non-judgmental of their client’s views, lifestyles, decisions, and aspirations and provide a positive and effective relationship
- Ask clients questions to help them to remove obstacles and work through their own thought processes to explore their needs, motivations, wishes, and skills to help them identify solutions, goals, and action plans that encourage lasting personal growth and change
- Assist clients, whether it is in their career, business, or personal life, to expand their understanding, elicit self-generated solutions and strategies, and to become empowered to achieve their own definition of success
- Help clients discover their own agenda of personal motivation, meaningful goals, and their passions and desires

How does Coaching compare to other services?
- Mentoring: coaches do not function as “role models” who have been there and done that and spend time sharing their personal experiences as a model for you to follow
- Consulting: consultants come up with an agenda and provide some possible answers for their clients; experts in their field
- Counseling: like therapists, primarily concerned with issues from the past and how they affect the present and typically hold sessions in their office whereas coaching is often done at a location convenient to the client or via the phone
- Therapy: therapists typically focus fixing a specific or multiple problems, overcoming issues, and sometimes managing mental illness routed in the past – why things happened as opposed to how they happen
- Friends / Family: focus is on their agenda, their advice, should, and should nots – even when it is well meaning advice; usually have a fear of hurting your feelings
- Sports Coach: focus is on winning, perfecting your form and to win the match / game
What happens in a coaching session?
- Sessions are action-oriented and designed to focus on the specific outcomes you want to reach; you already know the answers
- I will ask questions and offer suggestions and assignments designed to help you challenge any limiting beliefs, negative thinking, or old thought processes that may be holding you back from achieving your goals and moving forward
- I am non-judgmental and will ensure that every session is held in a safe and confidential environment where you free to explore, dream, investigate, and create
- You will be encouraged to stretch, focus, and achieve things beyond what you though you could do
- You will partner with me to design a plan based on your agenda and your solutions
- Together, we will develop action plans for which I will hold you accountable for doing what you say you will do
- We will discuss What has happened since the last session to see what breakthroughs and insights, and any choices or decisions you have made you have had between sessions
- We will review the progress you have made on your goals and activities
- Together, we will determine what is the next goal or project to take on?
